Tongue in cheek police reports by a senior with selective memory.
I think the chimpanzee at the zoo took them.
I called the Got-It Police Department to report it.
Here is the exchange:
Officer Little-Patience: "Got It Police Department. How may I help you?"
Me: "Officer, I would like to report my lost dentures."
Officer Little-Patience: "Are you sure they are lost ma'am?"
Me: "Of course, Officer! They are not in my mouth."
Officer Little-Patience: "Did you check in your bathroom cupboards?"
Me: "I did, dearie. They are not there."
Officer Little-Patience, a bit agitated by being called, dearie: "Did you check your bedroom dresser top, and inside it?"
Me, thoughtfully: "I did! I found a sock that is missing its partner. I wonder if it is with my dentures.
Officer Little-Patience, irritation growing: "Okay! When did you last have them ma'am?"
Me: "Let me see... I remember stopping at Scotty's Diner for the Savory Surprise Sausage Breakfast. Poor server, when he was placing my plate down, I mistook his finger for sausage and bit him."
I felt so bad. Luckily, my teeth fell out and he was not hurt.
Officer Little-Patience, becoming frustrated: "Did you leave them at the diner?"
Me: "Oh no! I popped them into my pocket of my purse. Oh! Here they are! You did a great job, sweetie! Thank you!"
Officer Little-Patience, losing it: "Next time, check every inch of your home. Go check the trash bin, the recycle, and the neighbors yours and pets, before calling us." as he emphatically disconnected the phone call.
Officer Little-Patience was seen going around the department appearing frazzled and repeating over and over, "Why me? Why?"
